stanzas, on the sa oasion

why a i loth to leave this earthly scene?

have i found it full of pleasg chars?

drops of joy with draughts of ill beeen—

gleas of sunshe &039;id reneg stors,

is it departg pangs y ul ars?

or death&039;s unlovely, dreary, dark abode?

for guilt, for guilt, y terrors are ars:

i treble to approach an angry god,

and jtly sart beneath his s-avengg rod

fa would i say, “five y foul offence,”

fa proise never ore to dibey;

but, should y author health aga dispense,

aga i ight desert fair virtue&039;s way;

aga folly&039;s part ight go astray;

aga exalt the brute and sk the an;

then how should i for heavenly rcy pray

who act unter heavenly rcy&039;s pn?

who s oft have ourn&039;d, yet to teptation ran?

o thou, great governor of all below!

if i ay dare a lifted eye to thee,

thy nod can ake the tepest cease to blow,

or still the tuult of the ragg sea:

with that ntrollg pow&039;r assist ev&039;n ,

those headlong furio passions to nfe,

for all unfit i feel y pow&039;rs to be,

to rule their torrent th&039; allowed le;

o, aid with thy help, onipotence dive!
